Eligibility
Export factoring rests on three things: a sound exporter, an insurable buyer and a clean invoice.
The exporter
- A company registered and operating in Lebanon
- Exports to buyers abroad on deferred payment terms
- Financial statements and an export history that can be reviewed
- A clean payment and legal record, with no previous defaults
- Not subject to sanctions
The foreign buyer
- Accepted and authorised by the credit insurer: LTS discounts invoices only on buyers the insurer agrees to cover
- A company, not an individual consumer
- Willing to pay the invoice to the factor’s account at maturity
The goods and the invoice
- Goods actually produced or traded by the exporter and shipped abroad
- Goods that are not prohibited or sanctioned, in Lebanon or in the buyer’s country
- An invoice payable on deferred terms, matching a firm order or sales contract
- Complete shipping documents
Markets covered
All buyer countries are considered, except those under international sanctions. The credit insurer’s appetite for each country and each buyer is confirmed case by case.
Documents to prepare
- Completed application form, guarantor's declaration and consent to the processing of personal data
- Articles of association, certificate of incorporation and recent certificates of directors and shareholders
- Audited accounts for the last three years
- Ageing of receivables for the last year and bank statements for the last twelve months
- For each buyer to be financed: statement of account, website and commercial register details
- Copy of the identity document of the authorised signatory
Documents in Arabic are to be accompanied by an English translation.
These criteria are indicative. Final approval rests with the factor and the credit insurer, file by file.
